THE RAIL INDUSTRY
Recently developed for the Train Industry is the Class 90, this is physically
smaller than the Class 80 but retains the twin
bearing
movement and the 80Nm Motor.
As in the Marine Industry, train Wipers have to combat a cocktail of corrosive
elements created by gasses,
acids and salts.
The extensive
use of AISI 316 Stainless Steel throughout our
Wipers ensure that we are
successful in combating these
corrosive elements. Aerodynamic
forces become more
apparent in this
Industry, especially with high speed trains and the
effects of Wipers lifting.
In an effort to overcome
these
effects we designed our Arms using 316 Stainless Steel Box section
to reduce the
surface area and thereby
reducing the force
required to lift the Arm off the screen. To counteract
slippage of
the Arm on the spindle
we incorporate a double clamp, with the use of two
M8 or M10 A4 316 Socket
Screws which gives
the
required tension. Another problem inherent with high speed, is structural
twisting.
Aerodynamic forces
identify any weakness in structure, Durowiper Arms have a doubled brace at the
point it connects to the
blade, which
eliminates twisting.
